Suddenly, we have seen a stream of attacks on France this year and there are numerous motives as to why France is the ideal country to target. Now, I do not mean to forget decades-old attacks in the Western and non-Western countries, but I do want to put emphasis on why France was the target for this particular attack.
Why is France Being Targeted for Terror?
France has a secular history; a political ideology that dates back to the French Revolution when citizens realised that monarchy and religion was a major problem when involved in the state. Many enlightenment writers from France persistently emphasised free speech, free opinion, free thought, human rights and the inevitable right to offend. However, this doesn’t play well with religious ideology. Religion as a whole, does not like to be questioned and have prosecuted those who argued against religious notions – both past and present. Thus, Islamic State aims to target France because it is a country that endorses free speech, religious diversity, non-religion and human rights – vital concepts that are restricted in Islamic law. Public Reactions to the Events The opinions – or mere notions for that matter – of the general public are predictable; easily expected and highly ludicrous. As I have mentioned in an essay on the general public, there is a vast array of idiocy, gullibility and ass-kissing; not to mention total unfamiliarity on the religious teaching. The public are quick to defend Islam and religion completely before attaining any comprehension on how religion was the causative influence. Via social media, I have witnessed numerous religion-defenders emphasising nonsensical favours for Islam such as the assumption that Islamic State somehow has no relation to Islam, when Islamic State is as real as Islam can get. Another statement encountered is “they aren’t real Muslims”. I don’t mean to burst the general public’s confident and audacious bubble, but the realest Muslims are those who participate or support organisations such as Islamic State, for reason that disciples of Islamic State actually follow the Quran word-by-word; following what their god asks of them without being selective. Additionally, there is a tendency for the general public to state “pray for Paris”. Firstly, why didn’t god already see this coming and stop the terror before it could occur – or does he still work in mysterious ways which eventually leads to global death? Secondly, “praying” is what got the Islamic State followers in the motivation to demolish infidels in the foremost place – or did they just pray to the wrong god? These disciples of Islam started killing as a result of praying and actually following Islam wholly.
Political Dishonesties
At least since the attacks on September 11th 2001, politicians have stated that such vicious acts have nothing to do with Islam. The general public are fast to criticise the government on a variety of issues, yet when the term ‘religion’ is mentioned or when a religiously-influenced attack occurs, they seem to kiss as much governmental bottoms as they possibly can. Political leaders and advisors are knowingly lying in the background of society. They understand the real influence that cause religious acts of terror, yet too afraid to exemplify; too fearful of their own subjectivity; too scared of the sensitivity of the public; too terrified to put weight on Muslims on how there teachings are not peaceful. Instead, the newly common “Islamophobia” excuse or “racist” excuse is raised whenever you speculate and announce the horrific teachings of Islam, or any religion for that matter. Conclusive Thoughts After countless acts of religiously-influenced terror, the general public still stupidly assume there are no links with Islamic teaching and Islamic terrorism. To the general public – answer this simple question without dodging facts and jumping to conclusions prior to actually doing research on the subject of history and religion: What other motives can you offer for the malicious acts of the Islamic State and the preceding religiously-influenced groups that have ruled through history using brutally violent tactics?
